How to get to Yatsuo -1

1)Buy a train ticket 切符を買う

Purchase your ticket for Etchu-Yatsuo here using a touch panel machine. The fare is 320 yen for adults and 160 yen for children. English is available. Just follow the ticket machine’s instructions.
タッチパネル式券売機で切符を購入。「越中八尾」までは大人320円小人160円。英語表記対応、画面に従って操作を

2)Go through the ticket gate and head to platform No. 2
改札口を通ったら2 番ホームへ

Check the schedule and boarding details on the bulletin board above the ticket gates. A station employee is on-hand, so show them your ticket. When the train for “Etchu-Yatsuo” is leaving from platform 2, please allow enough time as the platform is further inside the station.
改札口上の掲示板で乗り場と発車時刻を確認。有人改札で、駅員に切符を見せて通過して。「越中八尾」行きの列車に乗るホームが2番の場合は奥の方にある為、時間に余裕を持って移動を。

Go up the stairs or escalator and you’ll see a guide to platform. Platform 2 is located further inside the station past platforms 1 and 3.
階段またはエスカレーターを昇るとホームの案内が。2番ホームの場合は、1・3番ホームの奥を目指して。

3)Get on the train 電車に乗る

When the train is operated with only one driver, board at the rear and get off at the front. Doors may be closed because of air conditioning. You can open doors by hand and board from the rear.
ワンマン運転時は後乗り前降り。車内空調などの理由でドアが閉まっている場合も。手で押して開け、車両後方から乗車を。

4)Get off the train 電車を降りる

Etchu-Yatsuo is the 5th station from Toyama Station. Get off at the front of the train and give your ticket to the station employee at the ticket gates.
「越中八尾」は富山駅から5つ目の駅。車両前方から降車し、改札では駅員が切符を回収します。

From JR Takayama station to Yatsuo JR 高山駅から八尾へ

From Takayama – Gifu’s little Kyoto, which received 3 stars in the Michelin Travel Guide – it’s about 70 minutes by special express. It can get crowded, so buy a reserved ticket for peace of mind.

How to get to Yatsuo -2

Take a bus from JR Toyama station
JR 富山駅からバス乗って

1)When you arrive at the bus stopバス停についたら

Check the bus route and schedule. The schedule for weekdays and weekends is different. Make sure you board the bus that is going to your destination.
向かいたい方向かバス停の時刻表などで行先をチェック。平日と休日で運行状況も異なります。逆方向に乗らないよう気をつけて

2)Confirm the fare when you get on the bus
バスに乗ったら運賃の確認を

When you get on the bus, take a numbered ticket. When you get off, match the number with the bus fare displayed on the screen at the front of the bus. This is the fare. The fare for children 11 years and younger is half-price (the fare is rounded up to the nearest ten yen.)

3)Press the “stop” button to get off the bus
降車ボタンを押してバスを降りる

When your stop is announced or displayed, press the closest “stop” button. Please wait until the bus has completely stopped before disembarking.
降りたいバス停名がアナウンス・表示されたら近くの降車ボタンを押してください。バスが完全に止まってから降車を。
