Kagami-machi district in Yatsuo used to be geisha town. The Japanese inn, Kitayoshi, was once a geisha house, called Nisshinro, at the beginning of the Showa period.
八尾旧町・鏡町はかつて花街でした。鏡町『北吉』は、昭和初期までは日進楼という名の置屋で、本館には今もその艶やかな雰囲気が、贅沢なしつらえと共に残る趣深い宿です。
