U-MEI KAN / 梅かまミュージアム U-MEI館

Umekama is a kamaboko fishcake manufacturing company. Kanikama, or imitation crab, is popular overseas. Kamaboko is traditionally carried home after a banquet to be shared with neighbors, spreading happiness – a custom which began in Toyama.

『梅かま』はかまぼこ製造会社。かまぼこは魚の加工品で、海外では「カニカマ」が有名。宴の後に「幸福を分かち合いたい」との思いで隣近所にかまぼこをお裾分けをする習慣は富山特有の文化。

At U-mei-Kan Museum, you can experience making your own original kamaboko. Advanced reservations required. Gifts and souvenirs are also available for purchase.

『U-mei館』ではオリジナルかまぼこ作りを体験できる。予約が必要。そのほかお土産として購入するコーナーもある。

Custom-made kamaboko are masterpieces created by skilled craftsmen. Guests can watch them make it here.

細工かまぼこは、熟練の職人が技、工夫を凝らし、美味しく仕上げた逸品。見学ゾーンから職人の技を見学できる。
